‘Too good or too bad…….the choice is yours’

History can’t afford to forget Akbar; History can’t afford to forget Hitler because these men preferred extreme behaviour over normal behaviour. While, Akbar was ‘good to the core’, Hitler was ‘evil to the core’ and that’s why they live among us even today. It is always the extreme forms of behaviour that earn fame for the equally gifted human beings and not the normal behaviour. We hardly come to know about the ordinary men living around us in the society but we very often come to know about the extraordinary men living around us. ‘The too good or too bad’ factor is all that matters the most when it comes to media and the upcoming Bollywood movie ‘The Dirty Picture’ is no exception to it. This movie, directed by Milan Luthria, produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor is all about the life of Southern ‘Sex bomb’ Silk Smitha. She exposed herself to the core, entertained the audience exceedingly and ended her life tragically. In one way or the other, she became a victim of ‘raw fetishism’. Obviously, her extreme behaviour and unpredictable life style have forced Bollywood to come up with a film that deals with the non-explicit account of the life of the doomed sex symbol, Silk Smitha. Vidya Balan is playing the role of glamour doll, Silk Smitha in the movie. The blessed and the cursed days of her career will be flashed before the audience in the ‘Bollywood way’ on December2, 2011 on the birth anniversary of Smitha . I would love to make a point with my writing and the point is “The ‘best of best’ and the ‘worst of worst’ rule the rooster in media and as a matter of fact, the intermediates can’t be a part of it for they are never used to the idea of taking risks in life”

  8. It’s true that extremists are noted better than a regular guy. But, I find the definition of “being normal” is perceived very differently in various cultures and societies.I like Silk’s acting very much. I guess In a non-conserved society her life could had been far
more better than it was in a conserved society like South India. Whatever…., I am waiting for the movie eagerly!
